Plan for the return of schools full-time for students in two groups

The public education sector is in the process of preparing an alternative plan for the return of students to school seats, which requires students to spend a full school day and get a rest for the next day, after the approval of the Minister of Education, Dr. Ali Al-Mudhaf and the educational leaders, in preparation for presenting it to the Council of Ministers next week and making the final decision. Reported by Al-Qabas.

Informed sources confirmed that Al-Mudhaf met with assistant agents and directives of all school subjects today, and they discussed the most prominent obstacles facing the educational field, stressing their keenness to overcome obstacles in front of schools and parents during the new school year.

The sources revealed the general features of plan “B”, which requires dividing the students of one school and one class into two groups, in alphabetical order, in all stages and educational regions, provided that the first group’s working hours include three days in the first week, two days in the second week, and so on.

She explained that the working hours of the second group will be two days in the first week, and three days in the second week..and so on, pointing out that the mechanism for preparing the school schedule will change to be every two weeks instead of one week.

Plan B

The sources indicated that Plan “B” does not differ much in its content from the previous plan, with the exception of replacing students’ shifts in two shifts while reducing the number of classes, giving them an intense full day, and getting the next day off.

The sources stated that the plan includes an increase in-class time for all educational levels to compensate for educational losses while reducing the number of students present to no more than 20 students per class.

And it indicated that the school schedule will be divided into basic subjects only, with 5 classes for the primary stage, and 6 for the intermediate and secondary stages, with the study of non-essential subjects being postponed for the second semester and merging their grades, with a weekly negative PCR examination for unvaccinated students and teachers.

The finishing touches

While the sources confirmed that the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ali Al-Yacoub will hold a meeting the day after tomorrow (Thursday) with directors of educational districts, mentors, and some assistant agents, to put the final touches on the alternative plan, pointing out that the main reason for the alternative education plan, after presenting the first to the Education Committee in the Council of Ministers, is to monitor some obstacles that will face Parents, in the return of students in two periods during the same day, and some other cumbersome matters for schools and educational and administrative bodies, especially since the major problem is that primary schools represent a third of the number of public schools and have high student densities.

The sources stressed the Ministry of Education’s keenness to overcome obstacles in front of schools and parents during the new school year, especially with the return of students in light of the Corona pandemic, in a manner that ensures the safety of learners, stressing the reduction of student density in the classrooms and the achievement of regular work for the educational and administrative bodies.

Monthly assessment of the situation

While the sources confirmed that the two plans prepared by the Ministry of Education will be presented to the Council of Ministers next week to resolve the matter, they indicated that they contain an assessment of the epidemiological situation on a monthly basis according to health data, as full hours will return to normal if the matter improves and the number of vaccinated students, teachers, and parents increases, or In the event that community immunity is achieved in the country.
