Birthplace of the Marine Corps

The U.S. Marine Corps was founded 246 years ago in Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since 1921, we, the Marines, have been celebrating our Corps birthday on November 10 (today).

Our citizens have called the Marines and want us to do the best we can, to protect American soil and to protect our way of life and freedom. The goal we all swear by is to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.”

As Marines, we are very proud of our history and our heritage. As we celebrate our Corps birthday, please remember our legacy and those who have served before us. [Also Read: Who is David Cottom? Clarence schools closed due to police search for him]
