Chelsea win the European Super Cup for the second time in its history

Chelsea won the European Super Cup, after beating Villarreal, 6-5, on penalties, in the match that brought the two teams together at Windsor Park in Northern Ireland.

The original time of the match ended with a 1-1 draw, as Moroccan Hakim Ziyech opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 27th minute, while Villarreal equalized in the 73rd minute through Gerard Moreno.

This is the second European title for Chelsea in 2021, as it previously won the Champions League, after beating Manchester City with a goal to nothing.

This is the second time that the Blues have won the European Super Cup, having previously won the title in 1998.
