NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas – A 31-year-old man was arrested after police said he attempted to kidnap a child while meeting a teacher in North Richland Hills.
Police said a man identified as Kevin Ward was seen not walking with a child in the school hall. Ward then placed his hand around a child and attempted to move the child away from its mother.
According to the police, the mother was successful in pulling the child back and alerted the authorities.
Ward was arrested outside the school.
He was charged with unlawful restraint under the age of 17 and was taken to the Tarrant County Jail on a $150,000 surety.
No further information has been revealed about the incident yet.
